-Plato
Can you imagine a world without music? Every time I think about this question I always imagine a dull, gray world where the birds don’t chirp and the drums don’t beat. A world completely devoid of spirit, passion or even life. I begin to shudder at the abomination my imagination has created, but I soon become grateful for the existence of music. Then I think to myself “Music is love, Music is life.”
My fellow music lovers join me as we journey into the wonderful world of music. For the next few months I will be blogging about music because nothing can summon my emotions the way music does with her vibrant sounds.
One of the wonderful things about music is that there are many different genres of music such as rock, country, pop, hip-hop, jazz, classical, electronic, etc. Music can be sang in every language you can possibly imagine as there is no culture which does not contain some form of music. Music can accommodate anybody’s taste towards a particular beat or rhythm, or she can just give you that excited blood pumping feeling you get when you listen to a song you enjoy.
For me personally, music’s role in my life is without a doubt, an influential one. Music serves as the bridge which allows me to cross over into other cultures and listen to what people who speak a different language, hear on a daily basis. The sounds of the instruments and the voices all mixing together to make doing simple things like homework or walking down the street seem like a task of epic proportion. When thinking about how much music means to me I believe that Jean Paul can best sum up how I feel about music with this quote “Music is moonlight in the gloomy night of life.”
